A Space Channel 5 / Devil May Cry doujinshi, updated every Wednesday.

That's pretty much how Dante does it, although he only paused at the handle for about a quarter of a second.

Generally speaking, characters in video games don't show damage (either to themselves or their clothes) due to graphics limitations, and they don't get physically weaker because that doesn't make good gameplay (if you get weaker as you take damage then you just accelerate towards failure, which isn't fun). At least in the case of Devil May Cry as opposed to, say, Tomb Raider, the nature of the protagonist actually creates some excuse for this sort of behaviour. Although quite how Dante's clothes fix themselves I have no idea.

Dante and all things Devil May Cry are Capcom.
Ulala and all things Space Channel 5 are SEGA.
